  2. Seeing such stunning pictures raises the question, what are we looking for in photography. There are pictures, that once see them, are enough to satisfy us for two years… and not to see another image till then… Who wants to see a bunch like that? It would be exhausting… That’s probably why I avoid following competitions…

    • I know what you mean Shimon. I used to be a regular visitor to the Tata Modern Gallery and others when I lived in London. I was only a regular visitor because I simply couldn’t take it all in in one visit. How could you? You can only see so many Picassos and Dalis, your eye gets tired. It can all be just to much of a good thing. Now, daily, we are bombarded with imagery, how much of that do we take in I wonder? This competition shortlist contains some beautiful images, I hope by keeping the shortlist to 10, people can assimilate the photographs and enjoy them for what they are, images that stand out from the crowd.
