A few favourite places..

I’ve been so busy the photographs needing to be processed and catalogued are stacking up.  This afternoon I spent an hour or so going through some of the photographs from my last trip to Iceland.  These are a few I picked out for processing this afternoon.

I’m due in Iceland again at the end of January. With one of Iceland’s largest volcanos threatening to erupt, I’m hoping it’ll just simmer down and behave.  Katla has historically erupted twice a century and with cluster earthquakes suggesting rather unwanted activity, the authorities are monitoring the situation very closely.

Click on the images for a sharper, clearer view.  I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed taking them.. :-)

Iceland has been on our list to visit for quite some time. Because I live in Southern California, at least the trip would not be as lengthy as one to Europe or the U.K. Every time I look at your Iceland photos, I keep asking myself why I haven’t visited yet.

  19. It’s obvious why you’re hooked on Iceland :)
Depending on timing you could get some pretty impressive pictures of Katla – but it’s definitely one of those occasions to be careful what you wish for! …. so I’ll stop thinking about the possibilities!

    December 30, 2015 at 3:50 pm

    • Thank you Noeline. Yes Katla is a worry but could also be a huge opportunity. Rather like this dreadful flooding, there is beauty to be captured out there while for others, it’s just devastating.

  20. Fantastic photos, Adrian! I really love the ‘Kirkjufessnes’. It looks quite surreal. Enjoy your trip back to Iceland again. I hope the volcanoes are on their best behaviour. :)

    December 30, 2015 at 4:13 pm

    • Thank you Sylvia. The Kirjufellsnes photo was taken with my drone which I’m sure has added to the surreal quality you mention! :-)
