Just one day to go..
Autumn is now coming to a close and on the 21st December Winter will start or I guess Summer will start if you’re in the southern hemisphere. Either way, to mark the occasion the Digital Lightroom has been running a ‘Shades of Autumn’ photography competition. The prize for the winning photograph is Topaz Lab’s Complete Collection. A superb prize worth $400. I know you all must have lots of autumn pictures tucked away on your hard drives by now so why not send them in to The Digital Lightroom It really is a great prize, I use Topaz processing software all the time, and you never know…
32mm f/16 1/25 sec. ISO-100
We look forward to seeing your entries. Just follow the submission guidelines that you’ll find on the Digital Lightroom website. The Best of luck :)

Wonderful Autumn tints kindled by such early morning sunlight makes for a picture full of warmth and optimism ChillB …
Even the very top of the Trig point is glowing like a miniature Beacon … Splendid timing :-)

Thank you Simon. There are lots of tors like this across Cornwall and across Dartmoor in Devon of course. You’ll have to visit the west country soon.. :-)

No prizes for guessing which way the prevailing wind blows! But first prize for the image – stunning sky and such lovely warm tones in the outcrop.

Thank you very much Andy. This was taken just as the sun was going down, giving that lovely warm autumn late afternoon light, back in October last year. That tree has certainly had a tough life. There’s not much between this poor chap and the full ferocity of the salt laden Atlantic storms that make landfall down here on far too a regular basis. ;-)

I love this shot… The colors and contrast are great, but the way you have captured/framed the tree along with the rocks is beautiful.

Thank you Randall. That tree has clearly had a hard life..!
