Chapel Porth.. Lee Big Stopper..
On the beach at the crack of dawn this morning, it couldn’t have been better. Of all the offices I’ve worked in over the years, the beach surely takes some beating. I took this photograph just as I was packing up. I attached my Lee Big Stopper 10 stop ND filter and took a few long exposures.
More from my Chapel Porth shoot to follow. Click on the image for a sharper, clearer view.. ;-)
24mm f/22 150 sec. ISO-100
Fantastic.

This view is definitely not good for my ocean phobia but it’s so breathtakingly beautiful!! :)
July 21, 2014 at 7:37 pm
Thank you Trish. I’m sorry to hear you have a phobia of the ocean. Such a huge love of mine but a thing that demands a huge amount of respect and as phobias go, this is perhaps a more understandable one. There is much about the ocean to fear but so much to love also. :-)

This is really stunning, Adrian. :)

Wow, so nice. All that space and quiet.
July 21, 2014 at 8:24 pm
Thank you Bente. It was lovely and quiet at that time of the morning but I suspect it was going to be a busy day on the beach with so much warm and sunny weather around at the moment. :-)
July 22, 2014 at 3:49 pm
Looks like you can see forever… nice!
July 21, 2014 at 8:37 pm

Beautiful!
This post reminded me of this quote: “Don’t pack up your camera until you’ve left the location.” by Joe McNally ;)
July 22, 2014 at 7:25 am
That’s a great quote Ines, thank you. It’s more than once that I have had to unpack my camera having made the decision to head for home. :-)

‘They’ say you shouldn’t split the image 50:50. ‘They’ aren’t always right! This is an image that breaks the rule very effectively, rules should be broken. Minimalist, almost abstract. Visual yoga. I like the idea, Adrian

Thank you Andy. Half and half just seemed to work with this shot, the sand the almost perfect mirror of the sky.
July 22, 2014 at 7:57 pm
Wonderful!
July 22, 2014 at 7:43 pm
Thank you Kitt!

Such a *beautiful sea mirror ChillB …
… I think I would have had an irresistible urge to cast a little pebble in to see the ever increasing circles …
or maybe they wouldn’t have shown up :-)
July 22, 2014 at 7:53 pm
Thank you Poppy. I think the ripples are a nice idea but you’re right, with the long exposure they wouldn’t show up.. As you’ve discovered. The big stopper is rather good at making things disappear. :-)
July 22, 2014 at 8:01 pm
Oh yes indeed ChillB … did you have to remind me Lol
Tonight I’ll be leaving the Big Stopper well alone :-)

There is something very mesmerizing about the way clouds look when they are all drawn out during a long exposure.
July 22, 2014 at 8:31 pm
There is indeed Martin. These photographs always work the best if you’re either head on into the wind or the wind is directly behind you. You then get a real sense of movement. :-)
July 23, 2014 at 6:55 pm
simple and beautiful :)

Thank you Joshi! :-)

There’s no better office than the beach, Adrian! :) Or anywhere on the shoreline, I’m sure. So peaceful.
July 23, 2014 at 5:40 pm
There’s no better place to work in my opinion! :-)
July 23, 2014 at 6:11 pm
