I’m back..
That’s if you’d noticed I’d gone so to speak. :-) August has been a month of highs and lows that unfortunately haven’t left room for visiting your blogs and responding to comments on mine so my apologies.
At the beginning of the month, I had a major PC Motherboard meltdown, that left me without a computer for about 10 days. I was then visiting with my blogging friend Poppy for a week, taking lots of Photographs and enjoying a real break which did me the world of good but, within a few days I was in hospital for major abdominal surgery. I’m recovering well however and hopefully in the next week, I’m going to get to grips with my blog and catch up with yours so thank you for your patience…
This picture was taken at dawn on Chapel Porth beach. A glorious morning and as ever, when I’m on the beach at dawn, it was a wonderful start to the day..
Beautiful tones as always and I hope you’ll be fine soon, great to have you back :)

Thank you Trish! :-) Much appreciated.

Sublime colours. Sorry to hear about the problems, I hope you continue to make a good recovery and able to get back out there to do what you do so well.
Take it easy :)

August 31, 2014 at 8:41 pm
I was getting rather concerned, but hoped you were just busy doing great things. Seems we all get hit with these bad patches every now and again. Glad to see you back! Fantastic colors in this image (my favorites)!
August 31, 2014 at 7:34 pm
Thank you Gunta. I’m well on the mend now. The pastel colours in this particular sunrise were really quite exceptional. As I said to Sylvia, this picture is pretty much straight out of the camera. No processing was required beyond converting the RAW to jpeg for posting. It really was a very beautiful morning. One of those that makes you feel so very glad to be alive. :-)
August 31, 2014 at 8:41 pm
Yeah! Welcome! Beautiful picture!
August 31, 2014 at 7:39 pm

Thanks Mike, much appreciated! :-)
August 31, 2014 at 8:37 pm
Fabulous image, Adrian. The colours are out of this world. :) I’ve been wondering where you were and was thinking of sending you a message to see if you were okay. Sorry you’ve not been well, and glad to know you’re recovering nicely.
August 31, 2014 at 8:03 pm
Thank you very much Sylvia. I’m well on the mend now. The colours were exceptional the morning I took this photograph. The whole coastline was bathed in that wonderful golden glow. This picture is straight from the camera with minimal processing. None were needed. A quite exceptional sunrise. :-)
August 31, 2014 at 8:37 pm
We all need a break at times! I’ve had four major ops for my Crohn’s so totally understand how much it can take to recover. My photography and the great outdoors have always been a blessing when I’m not feeling great. A beautiful image as ever :-)
August 31, 2014 at 8:09 pm
Thank you very much Sarah. I’m sorry to hear about your problems with Crohn’s, such a very unpleasant condition. As you say, photography and the great outdoors can be a such a great healer. :-)
August 31, 2014 at 8:35 pm
Just about the best medicine there is :-D Keep healing yourself!
August 31, 2014 at 8:59 pm
:-) You too!
September 1, 2014 at 1:36 pm
Hope your recovery is complete and speedier than expected.
I wouldn’t worry about reading what has gone by; just jump in to the current stuff, otherwise you’ll never catch up (I speak from experience).
August 31, 2014 at 8:14 pm
Thank you so much Emilio! I think I’ll have to take your advice. My WordPress inbox is overflowing..
August 31, 2014 at 8:32 pm
My husband’s two-year-old iMac is dying and of course, Apple can find nothing wrong with it. We’ve ordered him a new one, but I hope it gets here before his machine dies altogether. Sorry to hear about the problems, but life does that to us.
Thanks for the lovely photo and update. Take care of yourself. The blog will wait patiently.
Nancy

Thank you Bente. I’m looking forward to that too! :-)
September 1, 2014 at 1:37 pm
I second Emilio’s advice…living in China, we often have extended times when internet service is intentionally disrupted (for whole provinces, etc. for weeks or longer). When that happened in the past, I would feel like I had to go back and try to catch up, but it’s not really practical. Especially as you are recovering. Just delete and start fresh :). All bloggers have times when life keeps us out of the loop. Glad you are back…I enjoy seeing your photography so much!
August 31, 2014 at 11:36 pm
Thank you Sylvia. I will follow yours and Emilio’s advice I think. It takes a lot of time just keeping one step ahead let alone going back much as I’d like to. :-)
September 1, 2014 at 1:39 pm

Thank you Simon. Shouldn’t be too long now and I’ll be back on that clifftop at dawn.. Going into my favourite time of year now. The tourist season is widing down and the light is sublime.. when the sun shines that is. Fingers crossed for a better Autumn than the August we’ve just had. :-)

I missed you, most definitely, Adrian. I’m so sorry to hear of your excursion into the surgical theatre, Truth to tell, I had wondered if MS had re-surfaced and relieved to hear it hasn’t. All the best for a speedy recovery my friend. It’s good to see you posting again.

Thank you Andy! Thankfully not the MS. I’m now feeling much better and raring to go..! :-)

Wow, not fair, not at all fair. I’m glad you did have that happy trip though. And I see the comment reply above mine, which reassures me that all is – well, at least better in Chillbrookland. Take care. Beautiful photo, and appropriate.
September 7, 2014 at 8:38 pm
Thank you Lynn. I had a wonderfuf time visiting with Poppy and I’m now recovering well. I’m still sleeping a good bit more than usual but a lot of healing to go on I guess. Thank you once again for your concern. I’m good now. :-)
September 8, 2014 at 3:01 pm
I’ve been hoping things were all right – so glad to hear you’re on the mend if not OK just yet ….. and views/experiences like this do wonders for your spirit!
September 9, 2014 at 6:30 am
Thank you Noeline. I’m getting there. This week as you know has been stunning weatherwise and I’ve been out twice this week taking photographs which has been just such a tonic. I’m certainly getting back to where I want to be.. :-)
September 11, 2014 at 2:58 pm
Hi Adrian, I’m sorry to hear you had such a rough month(!) but certainly happy to know that you are now on the mend.
I’m just getting caught up after being away myself… That photograph is sublime, and even thought the waves look powerful it has an incredible peacefulness to it.
I hope things are continuing to improve! Best wishes sent you way.
September 9, 2014 at 7:13 pm
Thank you Karen, that’s very kind. That was a beautiful morning on the beach and I’ve been out twice this week with the camera so I’m definitely getting back to it. The dawn colours keep still surprising me. It’s always different. The pastels in this one were right out of the paint box as Elena said. I hope you had a great trip away! :-)
September 11, 2014 at 3:01 pm
Welcome back Chillbrook! I was wondering if you had disappeared or if my timing was off but either way I did plan to pop in and inquire soon. Gorgeous pastels in this photo, a lovely reward for getting up to greet the sun. You’re in our hearts while you’re on the mend!
September 10, 2014 at 10:13 pm
Thank you Vivian. I really so appreciate your kind words. I’m gradually getting back up to speed. I’ve been out on two shoots this week so that can’t be bad. It’s been such a superb week here weather wise. The sun has taken on a gentler glow. This really is my favourite time of year. :-)
September 11, 2014 at 3:03 pm
I know I’m up to date with everything ChillB but having briefly struck lucky with an internet hotspot here in France I just wanted to say what an all round harmonious scene there you’ve captured .
The colours remind me of the various types of invitingly delicious glaces and sorbets over here :-)
What a whizzy time in the most literal of terms of photography we had during your holiday week with us I shan’t forget it in a hurry … Nemesis… Oblivion … SMILER … oh how we laughed :-D
September 13, 2014 at 11:49 am
Thank you Poppy. I’m so grateful to you for one of the best weeks of my life. And yes, I havn’t laughed like we did for a very long time. What a tremedous tonic that was. :-) x
September 17, 2014 at 6:11 pm
